The Big Ride 4 a Reason

In the face of all adversity and a troubled world of unprecedented weather changes which cause massive destruction and distress most of us sit back in our safe homes and watch the news. We are saddened and often frightened but most of us are removed from it all. It is "good" to hear of people making a difference, it is "good" to see people helping others and digging deep, either financially, emotionally or spiritually. We don't hesitate to go out to dinner, buy a bottle of wine or a lotto ticket but often forget how wonderfully rewarding it is to give up something for ourselves and share with those in need. Strangely enough it is often those who can afford it least.

My daughter Becky and her partner AJ are digging deep with an amazing fund raising bike ride to raise support for the 20 million people from Pakistan who have experienced the devastation of a flood torn country. These people were victims in a third world country to start with. Most are now homeless and starving.

Working directly with the UNHCR, Becky and AJ will together ride his motor bike through India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and into Europe for at least 6 months, whilst managing an online fund raising campaign.

Using this blog I am helping them to get the "word out" - if you are a company you will able to be part of the media releases and promote your name as a supporter of this worthy cause. If you are a private person you may wish to help and donate for the love of it. Your name (if you wish) will be listed on the secure site for Every Day Hero and 100% of every cent donated goes to the cause. You will be sent a receipt from Everyday Hero making the donation fully tax deductible. Becky and AJ do not take any of the funding for their trip. They are totally self funded!

Lets support them! I just have myself! The donation site is easy to use and only takes a minute or two! The smallest amount will make a difference! Even a small amount will show them we are behind them, it will spur them on during the incredibly long hours on the bike, through the freezing Himalayas, the sometimes inhabitable accommodation they must stay in and the sweltering deserts. For my Australian friends, I KNOW our country is in the midst of our own crisis at present, but I am hoping you will find it in your hearts to support this very worthwhile cause my daughter and her man have given up their jobs for and embarked on. As Becky writes in her marketing document, $125.00AUD can supply an emergency tent for a family who has lost everything. $30 can supply a food parcel. Any amount will help make a difference!

I will now add all the links to their website, email, and secure donation site from Everyday Hero. Even if you would only like to see their route, they have a GPS tracking site for us to follow.

Becky has written their reason and cause in detail. I hope you are able to take the time to read all about it.
