After I arrived back from wonderful and ancient Rome, I was engulfed in the lead up to Christmas. Christmas in Europe is truly spectacular with its "Christ Child" markets; the time to go is at night with all the magic and wonderment of lighting that enhances the old buildings! The air is crisp....no, no its not, its freezing but the atmosphere is charged with excitement and the many tourists that visit Munich at this time of the year. My friend Angie took me ALL over the place and we often met in the famous Marienplatz with the Glockenspiel and its fabulous christmas market. I had to return my new brown jacket as the zip busted so we hunted around for another. We were in luck, I found this gorgeous "down" jacket in a soft latte colour and she also found a black one, one left just in her size! They were both on sale so...bingo....we were decked out! We wandered around drinking copious mugs of hot Gluewein. For those who are not familiar with it, its HOT red wine with spices and fruit in it.........TOTALLY DELICIOUS!
Dad, Margaret and I went out to pick up a tree and the process was a fun family affair! Becky will be happy to know we found a place with big trees, so it was loaded into the car! I chopped the bottom of the trunk and unwrapped it.......Dad supervised! I decorated it while they were sleeping until nearly 2AM, it took HOURS, but what a surprise they had when they woke up the next morning.........It put a huge smile on my face! We were in the Christmas spirit, even though the bit of snow we had unusually melted away!

My Becky sent a wonderful parcel and we laughed wearing her antlers......one for each of us! I cooked a turkey for Christmas day and our darling friend Friedl joined us for the afternoon! Friedl came laden with gifts and wonderful goodies to eat! She is so special and has become a very special friend to me! It was warm and cosy inside for the lovely celebrations!

As with all families the Christmas spirit was with us and only slightly saddened by the ones you love SO much who are so faraway. I missed Becky SO terribly much and my darling friends back in Australia, my consulation being that I will see each and every one of them very soon!

After Christmas Day we joined our dear family friends Christal & Angie for a wonderful post Christmas lunch at the Tegan See! Christal drove us in his fabulous Beamer, so we were packed in; all 3 gals in the back - boys in the front! The snow had not melted there so close to the mountains and once again, we enjoyed a magical afternoon! The restaurant was situated up the side of a hill and overlooked the large lake!

That is me and my Dad sitting in the sun for a minute! We have come a long way as our lives have progressed and now enjoy every minute we can together!
Love to everyone, my close buddies so far away, you know who you are! Most of all my Becky, the best daughter any mother can have, you are the light of my life and I love you so very much! She and her AJ celebrated Christmas in Sydney with his family! I missed you sorely and can't wait to see you all SOON!
