Last days in paradise!

My body is caressed by soothing warmth as I float..........pale blue infinity surrounds me as I gaze in wonder at the little faces beneath.  I giggle as I watch their puckering lips searching for food in their natural environment.  They are the coloured fish of the pristine Caribbean waters.  I am at peace in their world, an intruder no doubt, but somehow welcome.  I know my heart will yearn for more of this addictive world..........they ignore me as I dive down to watch them closely.  They are all so busy, going about their day in their under water wonderland!  The silence is therapy for me - pure bliss and contentment, as I skim along the ocean floor finning gently to extend my stay in this precious delicate place!  I turn over before surfacing and look at the sun piercing the crystal clear void that is ...........just for a few precious minutes......my world!

I decide to swim up the rocky coastline to visit my family of lobsters.  They are there!  All of them, in five different places.  It's my secret, and one I only share with those who also love to see these special God's creatures and leave them in safety!  Their feelers are swaying with the soft currents and I dive down to visit them one more time.........the large one moves forward to see me again.  He always does and my heart leaps with joy at our contact.  I reach out, stretching my arm into his domain.  My other hand grips a rock to hold me down there!  He hesitates and looks at me and then........again, he rests his long spiny feeler into my hand and I stroke him.  We play!  I am playing with a lobster!!  I am in awe of the gift that enables me to experience this magic...........I stay until my lungs feel they will burst.  I will miss my lobsters, their natural curiosity and jaw dropping beauty.  I pray they are there when I return next year...........

Always in silence I swim back to the cove, the experience leaving me breathless and I know that no lotto win can equal the gift of being able to live on such an island paradise!  I departed only yesterday and already miss this world of azure waters, swaying coconut palms and warm winds.......

I have taken photos of my underwater friends but I must wait until I return to civilization to develop the pictures from the "throwaway" cameras I purchased.  I must obtain a digital underwater camera........keep posted and cross your fingers the pics all come out............I want you to meet my friends!
