Hello to all that have been waiting for my new blog! This is a short one to let you all know I am safe and sound in St Thomas, US virgin islands. I had to jump ship as it was impossible to stay with the original boat!
The original luxurious catamaran was run by a selfish, insensitive and arrogant slave driver who ignored any personal thought or need you may have. I won' t go into details now but I ended up " detailing" his boats interior - so he basically had free labour for two weeks. The boat was "supposed" to be ready to set sail 2 days after I arrived! It was 60foot of luxurious misery!! He went out on one Saturday night to the movies and just left us on board, after we had worked so hard all day without offering a lift or thought to his crew. The boat was in a marina stuck in the middle of no where and the lousy man never offered to take us anywhere unless it was somewhere HE wanted to go! One day it took me 2 hours and 3 buses for a ten minute car drive! Some days we worked 14-16 hour days whilst I also cooked for us all! After finishing in the galley sometimes at 11pm he would BANG on my cabin door in the mornings. Yep, BANG, not knock politely! Needless to say he never understood that I had traveled over half way around the world and wanted to see some of Miami! What an ungrateful miserable man! No wonder he had never married, no one would want to stay with him!! LOL........... Cie la Vie!
What made matters worse, the trip he advertised on FindaCrew and the countries concerned we were going to visit was ALL changed. He "changed" his mind and decided not to go there, without letting me know before I left Australia. #@&^*%!!!!
Guess some people know how to use others! So folks, I emailed another boat down south who was very happy to sail to an island with an airport to meet me!
Anyway, I am on a boat in the Virgin Islands and will write later! I am safe and sound! We may be changing our cruise destinations to avoid the hurricanes in the Bahamas! So keep watching this site!!
