Mazatlan is a wonderful Pacific ocean city. I can't believe I had never heard of it before last year. It's 'malacon' extends for quite a few miles and is very scenic. A new word guys, 'malacon'
means "beach esplanade" in Spanish. The town is separated into the "old town" with antiquated buildings dating back to the 15-1600's, a stunning cathedral

and cafe's. The other "marina" end has, yes, excellent marinas and the touristy resorts. This is where Katie lives, on a man made 'isla' in a modern beautifully decorated condo. She has great taste! Yes, another Libran woman! The shopping in this town is excellent with many silver stores.
My darling friend Katie and I continue to have a fabulous relaxing chilled out time. Our friendship has grown and just flows, we have bonded so much, she calls me 'family' now. It becomes incredibly hot in the afternoons so most activities are done in the mornings, for me that means a 20 minute walk to the beach and doing my ocean laps out past the small breakers. I gotta tell you folks, the ocean is SO warm, its like swimming in a clear, clean, warm but refreshing bath. Yeah baby!! After that I indulge in the freshest of fruits for breakfast which are not only pennies in cost but so fabulous and sweet. I have been writing some more chapters in my book and we often play serious cards in a group of four ladies in the afternoons. Katie is a member/owner in a stunning time share resort called Emerald Bay and some days we go there to hang around their awesome pools.

That is where the pool photos were taken.......

Katie has a lovely friend named Jo who joins us a lot going out, eating or for movies, she is the other lady in the threesome photo.

Some nights are spent going out listening to music by a wonderfully talented man named Raphael or for me, taking a bus downtown for the BEST massage I have ever experienced for $10 for an hour. The lady Isabel is so professional and we know each other now comfortably well although language is our barrier. A smile and laugh crosses many borders.... It's incredible how good at charades you become if the need calls.
I have been to and seen a good part of Mexico now and it is just a fabulous country, with wonderfully warm and friendly people and a relaxed inexpensive way of life! It's no wonder so many people come here to retire.
