Learning new skills

Hello again! Writing a blog has been a new experience for me this year. It is no doubt a wonderful way for your friends and contacts to see where you are and what you are doing. It also tells your loved ones that you are safe without them waiting/writing urgent emails to check that you have not been abducted by pirates or fallen down an uncovered hole in the ground which is very common here in Mexico. (I kid you not, you MUST walk around looking down as well as up in this gorgeous land!)

It has been a learning curve for me. Whilst I am quite computer literate, I am no wizz and therefore constantly learning. Including the photos has also been a learning curve and sometimes (until now) very frustrating. They don't always go where you want them to. I could never figure out why, but now have taken the time to study Google's blog notes! I have now learnt a new skill. Yay!! Not only can I put the photos where I want, I have added a NEW feature to Biancasplanet blogs.
I am not going to go back to all the photos but have added the feature to the last post. "More of Mazatlan Mexico." At present I am using Katie's computer, so my pics are not available to add any to this post.

So my dear reader, if you wish to not only "see" a photo but KNOW who, what and where it is, I have learnt to add a line of description to each one.
All you have to do from now on is hover your cursor over the photo and BINGO - there it is! You can move your cursor from photo to photo and be informed.
Cool, very cool! I am pleased as punch!

More of Mazatlan Mexico

Mazatlan is a wonderful Pacific ocean city. I can't believe I had never heard of it before last year. It's 'malacon' extends for quite a few miles and is very scenic. A new word guys, 'malacon'
means "beach esplanade" in Spanish. The town is separated into the "old town" with antiquated buildings dating back to the 15-1600's, a stunning cathedral Inside the magnificent Cathedral Basilica de la Purisima Concepcion
and cafe's. The other "marina" end has, yes, excellent marinas and the touristy resorts. This is where Katie lives, on a man made 'isla' in a modern beautifully decorated condo. She has great taste! Yes, another Libran woman! The shopping in this town is excellent with many silver stores.
My darling friend Katie and I continue to have a fabulous relaxing chilled out time. Our friendship has grown and just flows, we have bonded so much, she calls me 'family' now. It becomes incredibly hot in the afternoons so most activities are done in the mornings, for me that means a 20 minute walk to the beach and doing my ocean laps out past the small breakers. I gotta tell you folks, the ocean is SO warm, its like swimming in a clear, clean, warm but refreshing bath. Yeah baby!! After that I indulge in the freshest of fruits for breakfast which are not only pennies in cost but so fabulous and sweet. I have been writing some more chapters in my book and we often play serious cards in a group of four ladies in the afternoons. Katie is a member/owner in a stunning time share resort called Emerald Bay and some days we go there to hang around their awesome pools. Emerald Bay infinity pools
That is where the pool photos were taken.......Katie & Bianca in Emerald Bay pool
Katie has a lovely friend named Jo who joins us a lot going out, eating or for movies, she is the other lady in the threesome photo. Katie, me & Jojo at Kelly's bar
Some nights are spent going out listening to music by a wonderfully talented man named Raphael or for me, taking a bus downtown for the BEST massage I have ever experienced for $10 for an hour. The lady Isabel is so professional and we know each other now comfortably well although language is our barrier. A smile and laugh crosses many borders.... It's incredible how good at charades you become if the need calls.
I have been to and seen a good part of Mexico now and it is just a fabulous country, with wonderfully warm and friendly people and a relaxed inexpensive way of life! It's no wonder so many people come here to retire.

Mazatlan Mexico

Having flown across the vast country of Mexico from the Yucatan Peninsula to Mazatlan on the Pacific Ocean via Mexico City, I have finally arrived safely at my dear friend Katie's. We had a super reunion and it felt like coming home to see her again.

To my friends and family, I am here for just over a month and Katie and I are just "hanging out" - its incredibly hot and when I walked to the ocean beach early this morning I could not believe the temperature of the water. It was as warm as a bath. This is not a swimming pool but the Pacific Ocean......I have caught up with a few of the old friends from last year but most have left this furnace for cooler places until later this year. Katie's gorgeous condo is air conditioned, so we relax in cool comfort during the heat of the day either playing serious cards, watching old movies, reading, or for me writing chapters in my book. We intend to spend some days out socialising or heading for the hills where it is cooler. I may also trek down to Puerto Vallarta for a few days if I can find some cheap lodgings.

I cannot get internet access here on my computer as I thought so will check emails as regularly as I can on hers. Please be patient if you are trying to contact me.

Until my next blog post, Adios Amigos!
